SH: Are you making a tomato salad?
Me: Yes.
SH: For me?
Me: Nope. For me.
SH: I can't have any?
Me: Sure, you may have some. But it's for me. So you'll have to eat it as is.
SH: But it's tomato salad! And you got basil!
Me: If you want to make your own, that's fine. Or you may have some of mine. AS IS.
SH: What do you mean, "as is?"
Me: I mean I am not cutting out the stem end.
SH: But I don't like the stem end!
Me: These are cherry tomatoes. It's not going to kill you. Eat it as it is or don't have any at all.
SH: You're mean to me.
Me: You're a crybaby.

She who makes the salad gets to determine how it is created and served.
